Bio: I am a medieval/ early modern historian with a particular interest in the material culture of the religious orders in Ireland during the sixteenth- and seventeenth-centuries. My doctoral research focused on the creation and survival of ecclesiastical, and more specifically Franciscan, altar plate and the role of patronage and guardianship in its survival and destruction from the late medieval period to the present day. I am the research assistant on the Monastic Ireland project, based in the Discovery Programme, which seeks to create a comprehensive baseline database of historical information, images, and practical information, presented through a website. I am also a research assistant on Monastic Ireland: Landscape & Settlement, a development of the original Monastic Ireland project, based in TCD, with a focus on the module ‘The Dissolution and survival: the fate of the monastic houses 1640-1740’.
